KATRINA ADDENDUM

The flooding of Bernofsky's home by Hurricane Katrina, which struck New Orleans on August 29, 2005, completely destroyed the stored research notebooks and exhibits needed for manuscripts then in preparation, as well as the records of laboratory observations that were to be the subjects of future research projects.  An account of how the state handled damage to other physical property can be seen here.
